Honda awarded “CSR Leadership Award” For Traffic Safety Parks

- Honda inaugurated East Region’s first two Traffic Park in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, August 26, 2014: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., the Only Honda in Indian 2Wheeler industry, received the “CSR Leadership Award” at the prestigious "Think Odisha Leadership Award 2014". The award was presented by Baijayant (Jay) Panda, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Government Of India after a panel adjudged Honda’s efforts to spread awareness about road safety as a worthy winner of the 7th Edition of the award. HMSI had inaugurated its first two traffic park in East India at Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in June this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yadvinder S Guleria, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, HMSI said, “At Honda, we truly believe that as we grow, our social responsibility too gets bigger. The Cuttack and Bhubaneswar traffic Parks are a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making safe riding an everyday habit of all 2Wheeler riders. We are delighted that our efforts to cultivate safe riding habits have been recognized by the society, and we deeply cherish the CSR Leadership Award. As the only Honda in the World’s 2nd largest 2Wheeler market, we are committed to making safe riding an everyday habit; and contribute to the general well-being.”
So far the company has launched six traffic parks in India. Besides adults, Honda also aims to inculcate the safe riding culture amongst children. The specially designed activities, safe environment and professional trainers at the traffic parks have facilities the training of more than 65,000 across India till date.
"Think Odisha Leadership Award 2014" is an initiative to recognize and honor companies for outstanding, innovative and world-class services, projects and programmes in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
