Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India announces

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today awarded the winners of Honda Dio Hot Shot contest 2007,. Mr. Shinji Aoyama, President and CEO of HMSI handed over the prizes to the winners at a function held at Hotel Uppals Orchid, Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, President and CEO, HMSI, Mr. Shinji Aoyama, said Hondas commitment to India is much deeper than produce good products & sell it to customers. When a customer buys a Honda product, he not only gets the worldwide Honda reliability but also gets into a lifetime relationship with the company and becomes a part of the global Honda family. This contest was targeted towards engaging youth with brand Dio and giving them an opportunity to become a style icon which best represents the core essence of Dio .

Dio is the first Motoscooter of India and is pitched towards the young and trendy Indian youth . Dio along with Activa completely changed the scooter market scenario which was undergoing a dormant phase. It has state-of-the-art style & expedient features like CLIC, tough up tube, under seat space etc. Thus Dio soon became firm favorite among the youth.

To announce the winner HMSI had organised the national winner selection process and an award ceremony at Hotel Uppals Orchid, Delhi. HMSI rewarded the national winner of Honda Dio Hot Shot Contest where top contestants from all across the country came and were selected by an esteemed jury which represented eminent personalities . HMSI received over 7000 entries for the contest.

HMSI conducted a road show activity in Feb-Mar2007 in 17 towns across India where the youngsters were invited to the contest mobile van and asked to click the photographs with Dio .The pictures received in the contest were internally evaluated and town winners were declared. Further , top 8 winners were then screened by a panel of four judges, at an event conducted at HMSI . Out of the 7000 entries that were received, top 2 national winners were given the title of Mr Dio Hot Shot & Ms Dio Hot Shot .

Along with the awards and mementos given by HMSI the national winners were given a two year exclusive contract with Elite Model Management , a leading modelling Agency in India and rest of the contestants got an opportunity to do a grooming course free of cost at the The Elite model school in Delhi.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. N.K.Rattan Deputy General Manager-Sales and Marketing, said that, India is an emerging economy that youth will dominate. HMSI wants to be a part of every youths life & help them realize their dreams. So HMSI took a new marketing initiative and came out with the Dio Hot Shot Contest to help youngsters realize their dream of becoming successful and celebrity.
